Be NutriSavvy is run by Synergistic Productions Inc., doing business as NutriSavvy (“NutriSavvy,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what personal information we handle when you visit benutrisavvy.com or use our food and nutrient pages, nutrition calculators, member accounts, emails, and events (together, the “Services”), why we handle it, and the choices you have. It also applies to any other website of ours that links to this policy.
We decide how your personal information is used, so questions about it come to us at privacy@benutrisavvy.com. If you don’t agree with this policy, please don’t use the Services.
At a glance
- We collect only what we need. Your account and contact details, the family details you choose to save, and basic technical information that any website receives.
- Family health details only with your consent. If you save details such as pregnancy or allergies in My Family, we store them only after you agree, use them only for the calculators, and you can delete them anytime. More about member accounts and our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
- Without an account, calculators keep your entries in your browser. What you type into a calculator is never sent to us or saved unless you save it in My Family. More about the calculators.
- No ads, no selling. We don’t show third-party ads, use advertising cookies, or sell your information.
- Analytics only with your OK. Google Analytics stays off until you allow it in our cookie banner, and you can change your mind any time. More about cookies.
- You have rights. Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, or delete your information. Your rights and US state rights.

1. Information you give us
When you create a member account, contact us, sign up for our emails, take part in a challenge, survey or contest, or otherwise reach out, you may give us:
- your name
- your email address
- your phone number
- how you’d like us to contact you
- for a member account: your password (stored in encrypted form) and your confirmation that you are 18 or older and agree to our Terms of Use
What we receive depends on what you choose to share. Please make sure it is accurate and let us know if it changes.
The only health information we store is what members choose to save in My Family, as explained next.
2. Member accounts and My Family
Member accounts are free and only for adults 18 or older. A member account stores:
- Account details: your email address, encrypted password, membership level, the date you joined, and the dates you agreed to our Terms of Use and to saving family details.
- My Family: for up to 8 people, a nickname (no real names needed), an age group (not a date of birth), sex, whether the person is pregnant or breastfeeding (asked only for women and girls of childbearing age), food allergies, and other foods the person avoids.
Health details need your consent. Pregnancy or breastfeeding status and food allergies are health information. We save them only after you tick the consent box in My Family, and we keep the date you agreed. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains in detail how we handle this information and your rights under the Washington and Nevada consumer health data laws.
How we use it. Only to provide member features: when you’re logged in, our calculators start with your saved family, and we show each person’s nutrient needs. We don’t use family details for advertising, we don’t sell them, and we don’t share them with anyone except our website hosting provider, which stores them for us.
Where it’s kept. In our website’s database, kept by our hosting provider. Member pages are not stored in public caches or shown in search engines, and Google Analytics does not run on them.
You’re in control. You can edit or delete any person in My Family at any time. Delete all family details removes everything in My Family and withdraws your consent. Delete my account and data, on the Members page, deletes your account and everything saved in it.
3. Our nutrition calculators
Our food and nutrient calculators show nutrition values for each person’s portion. To do that, they ask about the people you are calculating for: a first name or nickname, age group, sex, and whether someone is pregnant or breastfeeding.
All of this is handled inside your own browser. It is not sent to us, to Google Analytics, or to anyone else, and it is not saved. When you reload or leave the page, it is gone.
If you are a logged-in member and have saved My Family, the calculators start with your saved family. Changes you make inside a calculator are still not saved or sent to us; only what you save in My Family is stored.
4. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours receives some technical information whenever you visit. It doesn’t tell us your name, but it may include:
- Technical and log information: your IP address, browser type and settings, operating system, language, the page that referred you, which pages you viewed and when, searches and features used, and error reports.
- Device information: the type of computer, phone or tablet you use, device and app identifiers, hardware model, internet provider or mobile carrier, and system settings.
- Approximate location: a general location worked out from your IP address. Your device settings may also let you share a more precise location; you can turn that off in your device settings, although some features may then not work.
- Your cookie choice: a record of what you chose in our cookie banner (see section 5).
We use this information mainly to keep the Services secure and working, and for our own statistics.
5. Cookies, analytics, and your cookie choices
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Similar tools include pixels and web beacons. We use two kinds:
- Necessary cookies keep the site secure and working, keep members logged in, and remember your cookie choice. They are always on.
- Analytics cookies let Google Analytics count visits and show us which pages are most useful. They are used only if you allow them: Google Analytics does not load until you do.
We don’t use advertising, targeting, or marketing cookies, and we don’t display third-party ads.
Your cookie choice and our record of it. On your first visit, a banner asks whether to allow analytics or use only necessary cookies. We store your choice in a cookie on your device. We also keep a record of it on our website, so we can respect it and show that you gave or refused consent. The record contains a random consent ID, your choice, how you made it, the version of our notice, the site language, and the date and time. It does not include your name, email address, or IP address. You can see your consent ID in the “Cookie preferences” window.
We ask again after 12 months, or sooner if this policy changes in an important way. You can change your choice any time with the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page.
Google Analytics
If you allow analytics, information about your visit is shared with Google Analytics so we can see how the Services are used. Google Analytics does not run on member pages, and it never receives the family details saved in member accounts. You can also block Google Analytics on all websites with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. To learn how Google handles information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
6. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide the Services you ask for
- create and manage your member account and send account emails, such as welcome and password reset messages
- provide member features, such as filling in the calculators with your saved family (with your consent for health details)
- answer your questions and help with problems
- ask for your feedback about the Services
- send you news, offers, and updates, if your preferences allow it (you can unsubscribe any time)
- see how the Services and our emails and campaigns are used, so we can improve them
- keep the Services secure and prevent fraud and misuse
- respect your cookie choice and keep a record of it
- protect someone’s safety when that is necessary
- meet our legal obligations
We may also use your information for other purposes if you agree to it.
7. Our legal grounds (EU, UK, and Canada)
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, data protection law (the GDPR and UK GDPR) requires us to tell you the legal grounds we rely on. They are:
- Your consent, for example when you allow analytics cookies or save health details in My Family. You can withdraw it any time.
- A contract with you, when we need the information to provide a service you asked for, such as your member account, or to take steps you requested before entering into one.
- Our legitimate interests, when the use is reasonably necessary and doesn’t override your rights and freedoms. For us, that means telling users about special offers and discounts, understanding how the Services are used so we can improve them and keep people coming back, supporting our marketing, and finding problems and preventing fraud.
- Legal obligations, such as cooperating with law enforcement or regulators, protecting or defending our legal rights, providing evidence in legal proceedings, and keeping records of cookie consent.
- Vital interests, when we need to protect someone’s life or safety.
If you are in Canada, we use your information with your express consent, or with implied consent where the law allows it, and you can withdraw your consent any time. Canadian law also lets us use information without consent in limited situations, for example:
- when it is clearly in a person’s interest and consent can’t be obtained in time
- to investigate or prevent fraud, or to investigate a breach of an agreement or of the law, when asking for consent could undermine the investigation
- for certain business transactions
- to assess or settle an insurance claim using a witness statement
- to identify a person who is injured, ill, or has died, and to contact their next of kin
- when we reasonably believe someone is or may be a victim of financial abuse
- to comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order, or court rules
- when the information was created by a person in the course of their work, business, or profession and is used consistently with that purpose
- for journalistic, artistic, or literary purposes only
- when the information is publicly available as defined by the regulations
8. Who we share information with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run the Services, under written contracts that require them to use it only on our instructions, keep it safe, not share it with others, and keep it only as long as we say. These service providers fall into these categories:
- website hosting
- email delivery (account emails, such as password resets)
- data analytics
- performance monitoring
- communication and collaboration tools
- sales and marketing tools
- product engineering and design tools
- AI platforms
- social networks
- affiliate marketing programs
Family details stay with us. Information saved in My Family, including health details, is stored only with our website hosting provider. We don’t share it with analytics, marketing, social network, or AI providers. See our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
We may also share information if we are involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, including during negotiations, and when the law requires it. Family health details would be transferred only as our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy allows.
9. Links to other websites
Our pages link to websites, apps, and services run by others. We don’t control them, aren’t responsible for their content or their privacy and security practices, and a link doesn’t mean we endorse them. This policy doesn’t cover information they collect, and we can’t guarantee the safety of information you give them, so please read their policies and contact them with any questions.
10. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or longer when the law requires or allows it (for example, for tax or accounting). In particular:
- account details and My Family: until you delete them or close your account
- contact details: for as long as you want to hear from us
- records of cookie choices: up to 24 months, then deleted automatically
- technical and usage information: about 6 months
When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous. If that isn’t possible right away, for example because it is in a backup, we store it securely and stop using it until it can be deleted.
11. Children
The Services are meant for adults, and member accounts are only for people 18 or older. We don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from, or market to, anyone under 18, and we don’t sell such information. By using the Services, you confirm that you are at least 18, or that you are the parent or guardian of a minor who uses them and you agree to that use.
A member who is a parent or guardian may add their children to My Family, with a nickname, age group, sex, and food allergies, so the calculators can show nutrition for each child’s portion. By adding a child, you confirm that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian and agree to us storing this information. You can edit or delete it at any time. Anyone can also enter a child’s details in our calculators without saving them; that information stays in the browser.
If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account or given us personal information directly, we will deactivate the account and promptly take reasonable steps to delete the information. If you think this has happened, please email privacy@benutrisavvy.com.
12. Your choices and rights
Members can see, change, and delete their information at any time in their account: edit or delete people in My Family, choose Delete all family details, or choose Delete my account and data on the Members page. Wherever you live, you can also email privacy@benutrisavvy.com with any privacy question or request, including a copy of your data. We will respond as the applicable data protection laws require.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, or Canada, you may have the right to:
- see and get a copy of your personal information
- have it corrected or deleted
- limit how we use it
- receive it in a portable format, where that applies
- object to how we use it
- not be subject to decisions made solely by automated means
If you are in the EEA or UK and believe we are handling your information unlawfully, you can complain to your national data protection authority or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. In Switzerland, you can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
Withdrawing your consent
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it any time. For analytics cookies, use the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page. For family health details, choose Delete all family details in My Family. For anything else, email us. Withdrawing doesn’t affect what we did before, or uses that rely on a legal ground other than consent where the law allows them.
Emails and text messages
You can stop our marketing emails with the unsubscribe link in any of them, stop text messages by replying “STOP” or “UNSUBSCRIBE,” or ask us by email. We may still send you messages about the Services or replies to your requests.
We don’t share mobile phone numbers or text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. We may share them only with service providers that help us deliver our own messages and support.
13. Browser privacy signals
Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a choice of necessary cookies only and as a request to opt out where US state laws give you that right.
Do Not Track (DNT). Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is still no agreed standard for what websites should do with it, so we don’t currently respond to DNT signals. California law asks us to tell you this. If a standard we must follow is adopted, we will update this policy.
14. Additional information for US residents
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia have privacy rights under their state laws. This section gives the extra details those laws require. The rights may be limited in some cases.

Where it comes from, how we use it, and who receives it
We get personal information from you and from your device, as explained in sections 1 to 5. We use it for the purposes in section 6 and share it with the service providers in section 8, under written contracts. We use sensitive personal information only to provide the member features you ask for, and not to infer characteristics about you. We disclose categories A (to our hosting and email delivery providers), C and L (to our hosting provider only), and F and G (to our hosting and analytics providers) to service providers for business purposes.
We have not sold or “shared” personal information (as California law defines sharing) in the past 12 months, and we don’t use it for targeted advertising. We may use information internally for research and development; that is not a sale.
Your rights under US state laws
Subject to exceptions in the law, you may have the right to:
- know whether we process your personal information, and see it
- correct inaccurate information
- delete your information
- get a copy of the information you gave us

How to make a request
Email privacy@benutrisavvy.com, or write to the address in section 16. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out request.
We need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We use the information in your request to do that and may ask for more if we can’t match it to what we already hold. You can also have an authorized agent make a request for you; the agent must give us written permission signed by you, and we may still need to verify your identity. We may refuse a request from an agent who can’t show they are authorized.
If we decline your request, you can appeal by emailing privacy@benutrisavvy.com. We’ll tell you in writing what we decided and why. If we deny your appeal, you can complain to your state attorney general.
Health data in Washington, Nevada, and Connecticut
Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains how we handle health data and your rights under Washington’s My Health My Data Act and Nevada’s consumer health data law. If you live in Connecticut, we process health data and other sensitive data only with your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time; you also have the rights listed above, and can appeal to us and then to the Connecticut Attorney General.
California “Shine the Light”
California residents may ask once a year, free of charge, which categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing in the previous calendar year, and the names and addresses of those third parties. To ask, write to us using the details in section 16.
15. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or the law change. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change is important, we will post a clear notice on the site and email members before it takes effect. Please check back from time to time.
