Papaya

Papaya is a tropical fruit that is very popular in Latin American and Asian countries. It has a creamy texture, and a mildly sweet flavor. Surprisingly, one cup of papaya chunks has more vitamin C than one orange. Other strong suits include being a good source of fiber, vitamin A, folate, magnesium, potassium, and omega 3.

When it comes to our bodies, papayas can support our immune system as well as our heart, bones, muscles, vision, brain, red blood cells, and our babies’ early development.

Papayas are in season during the spring and summer, but because so many of them are imported, they might be available all-year-round.

Enjoy papaya on its own or as part of a delicious fruit salad. They also go really well with lentils, for a more savory salad option.
